Heather Valley is an Americana singer-songwriter based in Hamilton, Ontario. After escaping a star-crossed romance with an American con man, she left her career as a lawyer to become a musician.

In November 2019 her debut album, Desert Message, was released to critical acclaim. It was named ‘Best Album of 2019’ by Hugo Vogel of
altcountry.nl and the track ‘Ohio River’ was named the best song. It was covered widely, including a review in the Philadelphia Inquirer and feature on CBC In the Key of C. It was #5 in Canada on the earshot! roots chart. First single ‘Lovejoy’ was featured in the Props BMX documentary Go Fast: Pull Up on the life of superstar BMX rider Jimmy LeVann. HV’s songwriting has also been praised by Alan Cross for Global News & The Edge 101.9 FM.

NEW RELEASE: WILDFLOWER RADIO
Wildflower Radio is a warm and wistful collection of songs recorded at a haunted farmhouse in southwestern Ontario during the pandemic isolation period. It includes an original called ‘Emily’ that reflects wistfully on summer memories at the lake, exploring your grandparent’s garden, and listening to your favorite songs on the radio and a selection of covers recorded in Heather Valley’s gentle and thoughtful Americana style.

She is joined by an all-star cast of musicians from Philadelphia, Hamilton, and Toronto, including Mike “Slo-Mo” Brenner of Magnolia Electric Co, Thomas McKay of Joydrop, Nimal Agalawatte of Basement Revolver, Katey Morley, Matty Simpson & Justine Fischer.

Collaborators contributed from their studios and the album was mixed and mastered by Nimal Agalawatte at Four String Studio in Hamilton. See the next page for tracklist and attributions.

THEMES
Her songs describe an otherworld of lost love and longing, big skies, heavy clouds, dusty roads, grifters, lovers, and ghosts. Her songs conjure first and last lights, dull edges, and fleeting memories. They explore how to live after a heartbreak and how to love again.
