English-born and Australian-raised singer-songwriter Daisy Hicks brings you her 4th EP “When I’m Gone” from her upcoming new album set for release early in 2019.
Following on from her previous EPs “French Café”, “Upside” and “I Chose You”, the new EP builds on Daisy’s songwriting and vocal abilities as a truly contemporary soul and jazz artist with wide commercial radio appeal. Being the daughter of legendary jazz drummer Tony Hicks (Back Door) and closely related to international recording artist Chris Rea, Daisy’s music pedigree is truly undeniable.
“When I’m Gone” comes with a UK soul remix by Met Life (Michael Gray/Jon Pearn) and a stripped-down acoustic version. There is also a B-side “Stay” – a classic original jazz track written by Daisy and Malcom Maddock.
Daisy’s previous EP’s have all hit the charts – “I Chose You” hit #8 in the UK Soul Charts, currently at #10 on the Official European Independent Music Chart, “French Café” peaked at #2 on the Official European Independent Charts and “Upside” broke the Top 10 on the Official European Independent Music Chart and the Euro Indie Music Chart.
All 3 singles continue to have unwavering radio support in the UK, across Europe and in the US from Jazz FM, various BBC Regional Stations, Jamm FM, MiSoul, Delite, Solar, Starpoint and many more. In the last 18 months, Daisy’s tracks have had over 27,500 radio plays around the world and her videos on Facebook have received over 14M views,
After being classically trained and beginning her career in jazz, Daisy decided to deviate from her roots and explore her musical horizons. By the age of 19 Daisy had been signed by Concept Music, where she released her debut album “Mistress”. The album broke in the UK, Japan and European markets with radio play on the likes of KISS, Radio 1 and Capital Radio and great support from some key tastemakers. This foundation led to Daisy touring in Australia, Singapore and the Far East.
Daisy has worked with amazing people internationally, writing with Aron Friedman (Backstreet Boys, Take That), Stefan Örn (co-wrote 2011 Eurovision winner, Anders Bagge, Westlife), Jeff Franzel (Josh Groban, Taylor Dayne), Malcolm Maddock (James Brown, Lionel Ritchie). She has worked with producers Matt Fell (multi-CMAA award winner, Sara Storer, Shane Nicholson), Curtis Schwartz and Gil Cang. And her music has had remixes by Tim Laws (Daryl Hall, Gabrielle), Pete Craigie (Billy Ocean, Seth Lakeman), Michael Gray and Jon Pearn (Met Life/The Weekend), The BodyBangers, Steve Moore, 7th Heaven, Almighty, Ruff Diamond, Sir Piers and Brian Power.
Daisy’s distinctive crystal-clear vocals always soar above the music and her music is played in thousands of shops, shopping malls, bars and airlines. Her track “So Much More Than Love” featured on the hit US TV series ‘Pretty Little Liars’.
Daisy’s cool, honey-sweet vocal style sounds effortless but she has the power to deliver her songs with a depth that makes both timelessly beautiful and addictive to listen to.
“When I’m Gone” will be available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon and all major digital platforms.

“Daisy Hicks has got enough talent to hold her own against some of the biggest names in the game right now, and if she continues to make music that can evolve and progress, it won’t be long before she’s influencing an entire new era of jazz”
– The Indie Source’ Music Mag
“Some critics might want to liken Daisy to Norah Jones, and I don’t necessarily know if I could agree with them. It’s that unlike Jones, there’s a uniquely out of the box vibe that Hicks brings to the table when she weaves the tapestry of her lyrics into the colorful tones of her music. Her style is steeped in an uninhibited and indie-inspired rebellion that is more akin to the conceptual theory set forth by the Duke or Miles than Norah Jones’ style ever was.”
“The amazing thing about songwriters like Daisy is that they can make their home almost anywhere that they wish, because good composing allows for artists to transcend scenes, genres and eras all the same. Daisy Hicks may just be the queen of summer 2018.”
“No one else in her class of artists has the chance of appealing to such a vastly wide range of fans of any number of tastes or backgrounds. If you haven’t already heard her music, do yourself a favor and seek out her brilliant work wherever you can find it. Daisy Hicks is a generation artist, and she deserves our deepest respect.”
“For the last half of the decade, it’s felt like Americana pop was getting increasingly more insular, to the point where listening to the radio could sometimes feel suffocating. Daisy Hicks is changing that for the better.”
“I Choose You and Upside represent a very big moment in Daisy Hicks’ recording career and the first pair of major crossover jazz hits for any international artist in well over a decade and in my opinion have elevated Hicks into the big leagues with zeal.”
